In 2008 your chapter of the Red Cross responded to 21 home fires, often the families lost everything. Last year we spent $20,757 to provide material and financial comfort for these families.
One fire victim and her children slept in their car until Red Cross volunteers could find her to provide hotel rooms, new clothes and help with other personal needs. We also provide food and water to fire fighters and emergency personnel during a disaster.
